Monique McGee is an interdisciplinary researcher exploring fan communities as dynamic sites of informal learning. Her work centers how adult learners construct knowledge, identity, and social norms through participatory fan practices. She is particularly interested in what fan spaces reveal about learning beyond formal educational settings—both their possibilities and their consequences.

Her dream project would involve joining a world tour as an in‑house researcher to study how fans prepare for, experience, and make meaning of live shows, including the rituals, traditions, and community practices that emerge around them.
